i have a very long list of things to do and places to see. during the summer, that list always seems to get unmanageably long, so i’ve decided to share my own weekly list of fun stuff that i’ve found to do in the upcoming week. whether i get to all of it is another story.
i may be a little biased, but we’ll start with the brand new exhibit that opened at the museum of science on sunday, june 5th. dinosaurs: ancient fossils, new discoveries is now on display through august 21st and is included in the price of your exhibit halls ticket.
tasca is featuring pitchers of their blood orange sangria on tuesday, june 7th and wednesday, june 8th for $5 a pitcher (one per table). word on the street is that their sangria is outstanding.
apparently tuesday is the hot night of the week for events, because this week, sushi-teq starts up their tequila tuesdays, with free tequila tastings and free salsa dance lessons from 6-8pm. they’re located at the intercontinental on the waterfront.
city hall gets taken over by ice cream vendors from wednesday, june 7th through thursday, june 9th during the jimmy fund’s scooper bowl. tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children. you get all you can eat ice cream and the proceeds go towards cancer research and care. and yes, ben & jerry’s is one of the vendors.
i’m just going to skip over friday for now because i’m so excited about the fireplace’s latin fest on saturday, june 11th and sunday, june 12th. tickets are $22 in advance, $30 at the door. you get a selection of free food, latin music and entertainment and can purchase delicious drinks and food all day long. last year, it was raining and it was still one of the highlights of the summer for me.
and because i always seem to miss the south boston farmers market, i heard that the union square farmers market kicked off this past weekend and will be open on saturdays throughout the summer from 9am-1pm.
